A fascinating opportunity to invest in an unopened 1986 Fleer Basketball Wax Box. Containing serial number X0006, this box represents one of the earliest instances of BBCE authenticating a 1986 Fleer box. Each original wax box from this issue contains three complete 132-card sets plus 36 cards towards a fourth set. Inside are three complete 11-card sticker sets plus three additional stickers. The box contains at least one Michael Jordan #57 rookie showing through the top of one of the packs, as well as four Michael Jordan stickers showing through the backs of the packs.
This asset trades every weekday between 3-4pm EST (beginning on 3/29). Investors can place bids and asks in “Post Only” mode at all other times.


The 1986 class of rookies, highlighted by Michael Jordan, is perhaps the most accomplished in NBA history. A short list of stars and Hall of Famers who appear in this set (many their rookie debut) include Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Manute Bol, Wayman Tisdale, Chris Mullin, Hakeem Olajuwon, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins, James Worthy, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Julius Erving, Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.


This box has a rookie Michael Jordan card visible through the front of the package. This guarantees that at least one Jordan rookie is contained. There could be additional MJ cards contained within, each one potentially worth $550,000+ if graded a 10.
A 1986-87 Fleer Basketball Wax Box sold for a record setting $344,400 via Goldin Auctions in March 2021.
The box also contains 4 Michael Jordan stickers.
Labeled sequentially with serial number X0006, this box represents one of the earliest instances of BBCE authenticating a 1986 fleer box.
Accompanying letter verifies that, based on sequencing of the shown cards, and the wax wrapper alignment, that it is indeed a factory original box.

This set is considered the premier basketball set to own, its status and significance is on the level of the 1952 Topps baseball set. Supply of these rare boxes cannot keep up with growing demand each year.
